Run for Health

Sport Project

Run for Health was a project that lasted from January 2019 to November 2020, in which in-depth research and working groups were conducted to understand the value of sporting events, especially running, in people’s social and individual lives. Firstly, We analysed from a personal perspective what is the impact of sporting activity on the individual in relation to psychological well-being and health. On the other hand,  the impact of sporting events (marathons, half marathons and other smaller and local competitions) on the social life of people and communities.

Many aspects were analysed, such as the increase in tourism, the role of the institutions, the economic impact, the involvement of companies; as well as the expectations of the participants, the sense of belonging to the community of runners, the relevance of the location in the choice of events to participate in, and – finally – both individual and social changes in the short and long term.

Project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union
