Scientific Committee
Working together
The functions of the Scientific Committee of ECOS consist in evaluating projects and scientific documents of the association, in the expression of opinions requested by the Board of Directors and in the autonomous proposal of initiatives.
The Scientific Committee is composed of the following medical and academic personalities:
Santo Rullo
Psychiatrist Responsible for Rehabilitative Therapeutic Facilities “Villa Letizia” and “Villa Madre Chiara Ricci”, residential structures for the extensive community treatment of minors and adolescents, in Rome. Since October 2014 he is the psychiatrist consultant for the “Project ECO: day centre for dual diagnosis” of CeIS (Italian Solidarity Centre) “Don Mario Picchi”, in Rome, with particular attention to the play disorders and dysfunctional use of new technologies and reality.
From March 2012 to February 2015 he was president of the Italian Society of Social Psychiatry. Since December 2007 he is the President of the FENASCOP Regional Section of Lazio (National Federation of Psycho-Psychotherapeutic Community Structures). He is the chairman of the “International Football Committee on Mental Health” and has been promoting for years sport and physical activity in psychiatric rehabilitation programs.
Stefania Cerino
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery, Specialist in Psychiatry and Clinical Criminology, and Psychoanalyst. Former Medical Director of DSM, ASL Na1, S. Gennaro Hospital, she works in transcultural psychiatry, epilepsy and equestrian rehabilitation. She was responsible for the Paralympic Equestrian Rehabilitation and Equestrian Department of the Italian Equestrian Sports Federation.
Coordinator of various research projects in the field of assistance with horses, in collaboration with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (Italian Health Superior Institute). Member of the working group for the national guide for Assisted interventions with the animals of the Ministry of Health, she was until December 2018 in charge of the Psychiatric Rehabilitation Area and the SRSR H 24 Module of the Villa Rosa Rehabilitative Facility, where she followed study and research projects within the Integrated Neurocognitive Therapy, Sport and Orthotherapy. Author of numerous publications, she is currently a member of the scientific committee of the project SPHERE – Sport Healing Rehabilitation, concerning Sports and Psychiatric Rehabilitation.
Stefano Tamorri
Neuropsychiatrist at the CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee) Institute of Sports Medicine and Science, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery, and specialized in Psychiatry and Sports Medicine. He obtained a PhD from Newport Research University (Florida). He is a psychotherapist in Bio-energetic Analysis and in Biofeedback and Self-Control Therapies.
He is a graduate expert in Sports Psychology. He is a member of the Medical Association of Rome and of the Order of Psychologists of Latium, as well as of the Register of Psychotherapists of the Order of Physicians and of the Order of Psychologists. He was a medical director at the USL Roma E and is currently responsible for the Neuroscience service at CONI’s Institute of Sports Medicine. He is an expert in the Sports Medicine sector at the Health Department of the Latium Region. He was Professor of Sports Psychology at the Faculty of Motor Sciences of the University of L’Aquila and boasts numerous national and international publications.
