The lockdown measures to fight COVID19 outbreak have been forcing European citizens to stay safe at home, with many difficulties and challenges for the practicing of sport physical activity. We will have to wait some time before seeing again marathons and runs, with people running and competing all together.

But in order to promote the love for sport in harmony with social distancing measures, the Italian organisation Runcard  Italia organises a special event named “Runcard Virtual Race”, where teams of four people can run 10km each, singularly and everywhere they want, even in different cities and countries.

ECOS Europe applauds this event and participates with a team of four people composed by Santo Rullo, Fortunato Rizzo, Giovanni Martinotti and Mauro Pettorruso. Through our participating, we are disseminating our Erasmus+ Project RunForHealth, aimed at promoting the health and social benefits of participating in running events. Our team is indeed participating the run wearing a special running tank top, celebrating the European Project.

RunForHealth is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, led by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), in cooperation with ECOS, the European Association for Sport Management (Germany), the NHTV Breda University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), the Mulier Institute (Netherlands) and the Lithuanian Sports University (Lithuania).
