An important recognition has just arrived to our Rome office: the European Culture and Sport Organization is becoming partner of the European Week of Sport, the event organised every year (23-30 September) by the European Commission in order promote sport and physical activity all around Europe.

Next 23rd September, ECOS will be in Espoo (Finland) for the signature of the joint agreement with the EU Commission represented by Tibor Navracsics. ECOS will attend the official opening of the fifth edition of the Week and the following seminar on “How to make young people more active?”.

Launched in 2015, the European Week of Sport was created in response to the worsening inactivity crisis. For five years, the European Week of Sport has helped tackle inactivity, by encouraging Europeans to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. The Week has continued to grow year after year, encouraging ever more Europeans to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. From five million participants and 7,000 events in 2015, the 2018 edition drew in a staggering 12 million participants across 48,500 events.

Thanks to our new agreement, ECOS will be in the first line in the promotion of the European Week of Sport and the #BeActive (the official hashtag for the event) movement.
